The POET BAND
C.C. ARSHAGRA & The Say
Soon to Release New Song for World-Wide Radio Air Play
THE SAY: Written 05 November 2006
It has been forever since C.C. first thought of forming a poet band. But, one of the mantras Arshagra lives by is, “Nothing happens until it happens.” So, lo and behold the day came. And on that day it is fair to say that Brian Haley is the original inspiration, and the soulful architect of C.C.’s first poet band.
He believed in C.C. as an artist. He also drew from the life force of Dennis J. Sullivan. Dennis (who for the last few years now) continues to spearhead a 9-11 concert event.
Brian’s push to involve C.C.’s words and voice into the program ran into logistical problems until the spring of 2006. That is when the first rehearsal happened. Brian, Dennis, and C.C. met to jam, dream, and brainstorm at Sully’s in Arlington, MA. On this day the clarity of possibilities took shape. They ranged from a humble live poetry and live music jam to a full-scale live staged fusion of poetry, dance/movement arts, film, light show, and a motion text presentation with audience participation.
All-the-while Brian Haley's quiet drive, soulful laughter, and persistent patience was clear. His simple soul integrity insisted on staying true and being in no hurry to have the art of world love unfold before its time.
During this time Brian mentioned Keith’s name many times. According to him, Keith was the one additional person to complete the core trio now known as ‘The Say’ “He is going to love it.” Brian insisted. Keith Infantino is a musician, recording artist, and professional sound engineer. “Brian was right, Keith is a God-send.” states Arshagra.
"When I met Keith I realized I had already met this man. It was north of Boston at a summer solstice party. A great night of talk, laughter, and song. Months later we meet again at My friends Joseph and Nibil's Middle East Restaurant in Cambridge, MA. It was an amazing reunion. It played out like two lost brothers separated at birth. A truly rare event … and this was whom Brian believed in all this time. The soul character choice of Haley’s heart is impeccable."
By the time it finally came together, the winds of change had blown. C.C. was no longer staying in Boston; the heart and the Pacific Northwest was calling. The Jew Christian Muslim Song was the result of this creative union finding studio time before C.C. left for Seattle.
The band (The Say) gifted C.C. with their time, soul presence, talent and joy with the same measure of enthusiasm that these men contributed, so to will be the measure of this song’s healing in the world we live in.
